Binance and Binance TR Release New Statement Following Hack Incident! When Will Withdrawals Be Reopened?

As hacking incidents continue to increase in the cryptocurrency market, a recent hack has sent shockwaves through the market. As hackers continue to move altcoins, Binance has issued a new statement regarding the cyberattack affecting Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. In its initial statement, Binance indicated that the hack may be related to a DevOps engineer’s laptop being compromised. However, Binance later released an update on its security incident investigation, stating that while initial investigations pointed to a potentially compromised laptop, further investigations revealed additional breaches. Binance stated that this hack was a complex attack and added that they are still working in coordination with law enforcement to resolve it. “…We are still gathering facts and will share more directly as we receive them.” Binance reported that the total impact of the attack is estimated to be approximately $6.3 billion, and that approximately $3 billion in assets have been frozen as a result of work with blockchain partners. The company emphasized that all potential losses will be covered by the SAFU Fund and institutional resources, and that user assets are secure. When Will Withdrawal Operations Open? The exchange temporarily suspended withdrawals due to security infrastructure upgrades and address verification. However, according to the latest update, while deposits are continuing normally, withdrawal services are expected to resume within 48 hours.
