Bitcoin Falls After Rise, Causing Confusion! What Does This Mean for BTC? Two Analysts Evaluate!

Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency, lost momentum last week after rising above $87,000 and fell back to around $83,000. The decline created panic in the market, leading to further downward movements, but two analysts offered two different assessments. Analyst Says Bitcoin’s Rise Resembles a Bearish Recovery! Accordingly, Adam, an analyst at the crypto options analysis platform Greeks.live, first assessed the recent BTC rise and said it resembled more of a bear market recovery. At this point, the analyst notes that Bitcoin’s recent upward movement appears closer to a recovery within an ongoing bear market than to the beginning of an uptrend. In account X, Adam noted that put option block trades, typically used to hedge against or bet on price declines as the market enters a correction after an uptrend, accounted for approximately one-third of the trading volume. The analyst added that despite the rapid rise in Bitcoin, the implied volatility in major option expiry dates has fallen to around 35%. The analyst said that investors in the options market are not pricing in significant volatility in the coming period, and some traders are taking positions expecting another decline. Bitcoin Pullback Debate! In contrast, HTX’s chief analyst, Cloud, assessed the recent drop in Bitcoin. According to him, the recent decline alone may not indicate a new trend reversal. The analyst believes that the recent drop in Bitcoin prices resembles a normal correction following a recovery, rather than a trend reversal. According to the analyst, the pullback is primarily driven by macroeconomic conditions and rising US bond yields. Bitcoin and Altcoins Are Diverging! The analyst also points out the performance difference between Bitcoin and altcoins. He stated that this divergence between BTC and altcoins is something to watch out for. At this point, the analyst notes that capital may be concentrated more in Bitcoin during periods of limited liquidity, while movements in altcoins may be more volatile due to high leverage and lower liquidity. Finally, the analyst added that he expects this divergence to continue until the personal consumption expenditure and non-farm payroll data are released this week. *This is not investment advice.
