SEC Delays Decision on Spot Ripple, Dogecoin ETF Applications

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has delayed making a decision on two cryptocurrency-related ETF applications, tracking the performance of XRP and DOGE. The meme coin exchange-traded fund was proposed by Bitwise, while the XRP fund comes from Franklin Templeton, which was filed in mid-March. The review period has been extended to June 15 for the Dogecoin ETF and June 17 for the Ripple-based one. “The Commission finds it appropriate to designate a longer period within which to take action on the proposed rule change so that it has sufficient time to consider the proposed rule change and the issues raised therein. Accordingly, the Commission, pursuant to Section 19(b)(2) of the Act, 5 designates June 17, 2025, as the date by which the Commission shall either approve or disapprove, or institute proceedings to determine whether to disapprove, the proposed rule change (File No. SR-CboeBZX-2025-040),”- reads the filing . The XRP ETF delay comes just a few days after the agency approved three futures funds from ProShares.
